The three blondes in a boat, Sarah Ayton, Sarah Webb and Pippa Wilson received a replica Yngling, Ben Ainslie a replica Finn, Bryony Shaw a replica RX-S Windsurfer, Andrew Simpson and Iain Percy a replica Start, Paul Goodison a replica Laser, Joe Glanfield and Nick Rogers a replica 470.

So well done to Chris and the team at Astins.

Heroes’ welcome for Olympic sailors!

2012 Olympic FlagAfter the incredible performance by Team GB in Qingdao, all residents and visitors of Weymouth and Portland are invited to line the streets this Monday to show their support and appreciation to our returning Olympians.
Members of the sailing team will ride through the streets in a victory tour of the Borough aboard an open top bus, starting at 1pm from the Pavilion, and finishing at the Heights Hotel, Portland around 2.30. Crowds are encouraged to gather in the town centre around the Old/New Bond Street area, through Wyke Regis, Fortuneswell and at the Heights Hotel.

Bring flags, hang bunting and give our heroes the reception they deserve!

Its really difficult for the MD Roy Griffiths to concentrate this morning as the excitement of watching the Olympic Sailing events is proving too much for him.
Olympic bronze, silver, gold medals
Roy is a keen sailor and races from Castle Cove Sailing Club which is right by the sailing area for the 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Games. The main reason for his excitement is that the daughter of club friends, Hazel & Brian, Bryony Shaw has just won a bronze medal in the ladies RX Windusrfing. She has worked tirelessly and shown great strength in her first Olympics.

Other Weymouth windsurfer Nick Dempsey missed out in fourth place which has produced mixed emotions but the rest of the team including CCSC club member Sarah Ayton have done a brilliant job on behalf of Team GBR.

All of the sailing team use the Weymouth & Portland Sailing Academy for training and we regularly see Ben Ainsley, Paul Goodison and Ian Percy practising their skills. Fingers crossed for tomorrows Star Class event which could see another gold for Team GBR.

Mail On Sunday article 09/08/08

Roy Griffiths the Managing Director (MD) of Creative Solutions hits the national tabloids. Roy was approached from the Daily mail to do an interview in the Enterprise section for the Mail on Suday which was published on the 10th August.

The interview was about how businesses intend to maximise oppurtunities from the London Games in 2012.

Roy has already registered his business on competefor.com, a website set up to enable small firms to compete for sub-contracting deals.

He also goes on to say; ‘We see the games as a massive oppurtunity, but we have to make the most of this by being proactive.
