September 2008

Businesses are invited to a fun adventure golf day on Saturday 18th October 08 at the Pirate Adventure Golf Course in Lodmoor Country Park, Weymouth . This event is part of Open 4 Business 2008 where the aim is to wind down from all the events which are put on over two weeks from the 6th October. The ‘Open 4 Business Challenge’ is for businesses to relax and have fun, concentrating on the job in hand, though essential, sometimes lack’s the fun factor.  The adventure golf day will hopefully put a bit of fun back into work.  Even though we say businesses we would like to encourage families to get involved, for example if the MD of a company wanted to play it would be great if he/she was accompanied by their spouses or offspring..

The price for the event is £15 per head £60 per business, which is a team of 4 but you can enter more than one team if required, this will include a bacon sandwich and coffee or tea on arrival, 18 holes of adventure golf, a hole in one competition and prize giving.
The hole in one competition at the 19th (which for proper golfers isn’t the bar at Pirate Adventure Golf its actually an extra hole) where there will be a chance to win a great prize - to be announced.

The day starts at 9.30am with prize giving around 12.30pm, there is a limit on the number of teams so it is essential to book by contacting Chris Smart at the event organisers Creative Solutions on 01305 824900 or e-mail him chris@creativesolutions-uk.com

Chris Smart of Creative Solutions in Portland and part of Charity Support has signed up to support Julia’s House.  He is running the Amsterdam marathon in October 08 and also the great south run in the same month, he is also hoping to hear soon if he has a place in the 2009 London Marathon which he completed in 2008.

Julia’s house is an outstanding charity and is well worth the support that people give them, Julia’s House is Dorset’s only hospice dedicated to children with life-limiting conditions. The majority of the children that they care for are unlikely to live beyond the age of 18.

The children’s hospice complements the work of the Julia’s House Community Team, which consists of 60 nurses and carers who travel the county, providing life-changing support for families in their own homes. In 2007, the charity provided more that 7,400 hours of care for Dorset’s children.

If you would like to show your appreciation please sponsor Chris on his Justgiving page and you can also keep up with his Charity events by visiting his website Charity Support.

He thanks all supporters in advance.

Recently I changed my car and like many others before me decided that I could probably get a better price for it than the garage was prepared to offer me in part exchange by selling it private.

As marketing is my game I quickly put together some notices for the windscreen and went to place it in a well known strategic location on Dorchester Road, Weymouth. To my surprise I found a notice banning used car sales from my favourite spot so the thinking cap had to go on.

After riding around town for a few hours with no new locations springing up a thought occured to me - how about holding a used car for sale event on a Sunday morning where private sellers and traders wishing to offload older stock could showcase their vehicles in one place rather than spread out all over town.

I think I have found a venue so if anyone else thinks this is a good idea please give me a call on 07976 425719.

Toyota Celica 1.8VVTiIn the meantime if you would like to solve my problem in a more direct manner I am trying to sell a Toyota Celica 1.8VVTi (140bhp version) Premium + Sports Packs, Full Toyota Service History, Very recent MOT, 55,000 miles, full leather seats, very sleek looks and great to drive.

So make me an offer I can’t refuse.

How inspiring has the success of the British Olympic team been to the nation.  Well for me it has, having run the Flora London Marathon last year, which was a fantastic experience and well worth all the pain just to be part of it.  I have signed up for the Amsterdam marathon which is on the 19Th October 08.

I am lucky at work that the MD Roy Griffiths supports me and allows me to train.  I am also waiting to see if i have been successful in a ballot running position for next years London Marathon.

I will be running the Amsterdam marathon for a very worthy cause, that being Julias house.

Please find below my stats for the 2008 marathon
