barrett-new-shop-easton-ext-smallBarrett Electrical have moved into retail and have focused on the developing village of Easton on Portland for their first retail outlet.   The location of the new shop at 19 Easton Street will provide a convenient place to purchase electrical items that can only usually be found in larger DIY stores.

Barretts are a well-established family firm with a team of qualified electricians operating to NICEIC national standards.  In their seven years in business they have built up a recognised quality of service second to none in both the commercial and retail sector.

Trevor Barrett, Managing Director says “We have been thinking of expanding in this way for some time now and felt that the time was right, we have also been encouraged by the fact that Portland and in particular Easton seems to be an up and coming destination for shopping – everyone is much more conscious nowadays about travelling long distances to buy goods. We stock just about everything the home owner should need and can even help with installation where the job requires qualified electrical fitters”

Invitation to ‘Sail Through the Recession’

Like you, we here at Creative Solutions are determined to sail through this recession and come out the other side even stronger and more successful than ever.

I have recently been working with Andrea Burns, International Executive Business Coach, of Catapult Solutions and have been very impressed by her style and expertise, when she told me about her forthcoming workshop - ‘Business Matters - Sailing Through Recession’ I just had to get involved and now find myself as one of the presenters.

We will also be joined by Steven Keogh who runs a highly successful independent consultancy in the areas of bid management, business support, programme & project management, training consultancy and has very successfully led and supported bids and programmes of values between GBP £5 Million and US $18 Billion. He promises to unlock the secrets of bidding for larger contracts and setting up collaberations - which will teach us how to take advantage of the much fabled ‘2012 Opportunities’ we hear so much about.

We will be using the ‘Spirit of the Sea - Maritime Festival’ as a prime example of how collaberative working resulted in an event that supported the local economy to the tune of around £2m in its first year.

If you would like to take a look at the full details of this in depth workshop then check out the website at www.business-matters.info.

If you want to come along then please book early as we can only accommodate 48 delegates.

I look forward to seeing you there

Well done to our friends at Weyprint - see the ‘Spirit of the Sea - Maritime Festival press release below…

The Spirit of the Sea Committee has recently announced the award of the 2009 festival merchandising contract to local company, Weyprint.

One of the inaugural sponsors last year, Weyprint has a proven record in the production of personalised garments and other merchandising items.  Ian Jefferis, Weyprint’s owner, is delighted to have been awarded the contract.  “Spirit of the Sea is an excellent opportunity to promote the benefits of Weymouth and Portland by drawing together a large number of events with a maritime theme,” remarked Ian. “It should be well established by the 2012 Olympic sailing events and then live on as a legacy of the Games.” The merchandising deal will allow Weyprint to offer excellent rates for garments and other items to participating teams, clubs, traders, event organisers and supporters while also adding continued promotion of the festival.
