Whoever said that moving was stressful was a very wise person, however we are now fully set up in our new home at Jubilee Enterprise Centre and thanks to Nigel Reed for making us welcome and putting our signs up quickly.

As we are much easier to get to now please do call in for a coffee if you are passing by and we can give you a guided tour of our new offices.

We’ve just spoken with Trevor from Weymouth Sailing School who has managed to dodge the cold snap and is currently operating in the Carribean.

If this cold weather continues I think we should all go out and join him.

The plans for the ‘09 Spirit of the Sea - Maritime Festival’ are now well underway with around 17 confirmed events and a further 25 in the advanced planning stage, so it looks like ‘Spirit’ is destined to provide the 2012 legacy that we are all hoping for.

Please check out the Chairmans 08 event review at www.spiritofthesea.org.uk and click on ‘media centre’ which proves that the inaugural event was a great success in which ever way you might want to measure it, some of the headline figures are as follows;

33 events took place at 22 venues
Approximately 35,000 additional visitors to Weymouth & Portland
Estimated additional income of £1.435m for the borough
Combined sales of around £0.5m at MarineEx and Dorset Seafood Festival alone
PR exposure estimated at a potential audience of 33 million through TV, Radio, Newspaper and Magazine coverage
10,500 visits to website with over 37,000 page views
